Tips and Bits!

Tips & bits… By Jordan Francis.

==> There are NO secrets to making money online. Just hard work,
knowledge, money in the first place and scams which don’t last!

I recommend you grab yourself your very own personal mentor. It
will save you a lot of time, money and hair pulling! Check out
whose doing what you want to be doing, and ask them to help
you…

==> There is not one single info-product that contains all you
need to know about making money online. There is no such thing
as the “only book you need”.

Usually, the most successful ($$$) people making money online
are those who spend the most on their own education (ebooks,
courses, workshops, seminars etc). Terry Dean claimed he spent
something like $20′000 last year alone on his “education”.

Now that’s serious! Of course Terry actually applies what he
learns, that’s how he can afford to spend $20′000 in the first
place…

==> Right now, the last thing I feel like doing (apart from
running face first in to a propeller - joke), is sitting here
typing this issue for you! Why? Because at this moment, I have
no interest or motivation, and I have a thousand other things I
would actually rather do, than sit here typing this. :-)
So why tell you this?

BECAUSE I want to show you that sometimes, no matter what, you
HAVE to get off your butt and take action! Sometimes you just
have to do it, and for me right now, it’s typing this issue. I
am not a robot. I will get down, I will lose interest from time
to time. If I was to just stop and quit every time I felt like
this, I would NEVER achieve anything in life.

You ever feel like quitting something? Unless it’s smoking…
don’t! ;-) At least give it some serious thought first.

Here’s some advice: Take a break for a couple of days, get it
out of your mind. Spend some days NOT thinking about it. See how
you feel after a break.

==> Relax. Seriously, make an effort everyday to just relax.
Spend just 5 minutes everyday relaxing (either standing,
sitting, on your head…) and think of nothing! It’s simple, but
not easy…

==> Simple and not easy…. That’s making money online!

It’s simple… just follow my instructions they say… how can
you fail? It works for me, it will work for you… Heard that
before right?

Yeah sure…

Simple that. But is it easy? Don’t ever think that because
something is simple it will therefore be easy.

“…Find a product everybody REALLY wants… and give it to
them!”

Simple instructions. Is it easy? (If you think so.. you will
make a lot of cash)

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that anyone who tells you
that you can just copy their proven method and succeed is lying,
or wrong, that’s not always the case. I just want you to know
that you might well have to work for your results…. ;-)

Team Building: Developing A Team To Rely On

Filed under: Better Management — admin @ 2:27 am

Team building is very important when it comes to managing people. People are simply more willing to work together, when the atmosphere encourages it. For many organizations this is quite necessary for the business to run well. When everyone gets along, things just go better. They provide better service to the customer. They work together to deliver satisfaction with smiles. They also help to promote employee retention. Customers are happy, employees are happy, and the world is now a better place, right?

Team building is anything but simple. It is not something that can be done overnight. Nor is it something you can force people to do. So, how can you effectively build your team to encourage them to bond and develop working relationships that are positive? There are many things that you can do. Here are some ideas:

• Set the example yourself. As the leader of the team, it is up to you to provide a good relationship with your team players. You want them to feel comfortable with you as well as with others. Don’t favor some and don’t become too friendly either.

• You can encourage relationships to work by fostering a teamwork style. Make sure that the goals are established and that each team player is aware of them. They should know that you want a team work environment that is what you are looking for in your employees.

• Also, provide them with opportunities to get to know each other. Take the team out to dinner on you. Encourage them to talk about their families and lives so that they can bond.

When team building is successful, there are many things that can happen. Not only will the business run better, but you can foster good qualities in individuals to come out. You can have a bond of trust and reliance with your team. Team building is an exceptional quality that you should encourage in some form or another with your team.

Ancient PowerPoint Secrets: Ask Your Grandma!

Filed under: Better Management — admin @ 8:22 am

Yes, there are ancient PowerPoint secrets…secrets your grandmother knows and is probably willing to pass down to you.

But what’s this you say? Your grandmother has never even heard of Microsoft PowerPoint?

No matter. If your grandma was like mine, she knew something about the power of an effective presentation.

Ancient PowerPoint Secret #1: A little treat. My grandmother was the master of what you might call a coffee klatsch…getting people together to talk and tell stories under the guise of having some sort of treat. In my grandmother’s day, the treat would usually involve meeting over coffee or tea, and some sort of wonderful, home-baked sweet. And with these coffee klatsches, Grandma would inform and entertain while developing or maintaining treasured relationships.

If you’re in sales, you can learn a lot about PowerPoint presentations from your grandma. Chances are, her coffee klatsch objectives probably aren’t that much different than your PowerPoint presentation objectives. Like Grandma, you want to inform and entertain your audience…and you’ll want to develop and maintain valuable long-term relationships, as well.

I’ve given lots of PowerPoint presentations in my day. And I’ve probably closed more sales over a box of doughnuts than with any single presentation! How can it be any wonder that many coffee shops today offer free, open wireless connections? Coffee shop owners know that during the day, business people often close deals over coffee and treats. The free wireless access that coffee shops offer is an inexpensive, effective lure to attract business people. In the same way, offering your prospects a tasty treat is a friendly, low-cost way to begin a sales relationship.

Ancient PowerPoint Secret #2: A little conversation. In the past six weeks, I closed three deals in coffee shops. I bought coffee and offered treats to my prospects, popped open my notebook computer, and had a conversation (not a presentation!) about my prospects’ needs. Yes, I developed PowerPoint slides for all three meetings. But I didn’t use PowerPoint to present: I used PowerPoint to guide a conversation.

Now, you know that conversations are two-way, interactive forms of personal communication. But what did your grandmother know? She knew that conversations can be downright entertaining! And that’s yet another ancient PowerPoint secret: a series of conversations are much more effective than any single presentation when it comes to building relationships. So instead of building a massive PowerPoint presentation, why not build a PowerPoint conversation?

Here’s how: start by listening to your prospect. Conversations are all about give-and-take, which involves listening, not just talking. Avoid storming into your first client meeting with an “All About Us” PowerPoint presentation. Your grandma wouldn’t blab her life story to someone she just met: and neither should you!

Instead, ask questions. Find out about your potential clients’ business and what challenges they might be facing. Have a conversation, not a presentation.

Ancient PowerPoint Secret #3: A little more conversation. If you think your or your company can help your new prospect, ask them if they’d like to meet you in a few days…for coffee and treats, of course! Tell your prospect you’ve generated some good ideas for their business based on your conversation, but you’d like a little time to give a little more thought to what they’ve said.

At this point, many sales people give a yelp of protest at this advice. They want to dive right into their product and services, and fire up their “All About Us” presentations right away!

But if you want to develop a long-term relationship, slow down! Give it some thought! By telling a new prospect that you’ve listened to what they said and that you want to think about it, you’re showing them that you respect their ideas. That’s flattering stuff. And by asking for a second meeting, you’ve also assumed the close. In this case, the close is simply a second meeting.

And of course, your prospects will definitely want to talk to you again! Everyone loves a good listener. Plus, your new prospects will want to hear the big payoff from investing in their first meeting with you. And guess what? By slowing things down, you’ve favorably predisposed your prospects into liking what you have to say. Why? Because if they’re busy, they’re thinking subconsciously, “Now, why am I meeting with this person again? I know, the pastries are good, but that’s not the real reason, although I sure would like another one sometime soon. Oh, I know why — it’s probably because I like this person. I’m sure I’ll like her products, too. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have agreed to meet with her again!”

So ask for a second meeting and go home. Go back to your office. Armed with the information you’ve gleaned from careful questioning and listening to your prospects’ concerns, you can custom-build a PowerPoint conversation that’s “All About Them”. This is way more effective than the typical “All About Us” presentation.

And remember, Grandma didn’t have any use for bullet points! Bullets are for shooting people, and pointing is bad manners! So when you develop your PowerPoint conversation, remember what Grandma really loved: relevant, entertaining, illustrative stories. Make sure you tell a few good stories to your client in every conversation. Bullets can injure and kill: but a good story can really help you sell!

Put it all together… A little coffee, a little treat, a little conversation: that’s the essence of beginning and developing an ongoing customer connection. A series of conversations over delightful treats can set a beautiful stage for building a long-term business or personal relationship. This approach is much better than plunking down a notebook computer filled with fancy graphics, animations, and sound effects. You may kid yourself that PowerPoint’s technical “eye candy” can take the place of Grandma’s penchant for telling entertaining stories over coffee and cake - but it isn’t. You only get to build strong relationships over time, so put away your hard-sell PowerPoint presentation slides…and grab a cookie!

Great Abs workouts

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:29 am

The abdominal slings are excellent exercise accessory for your abdominal workouts. Made out of cordura nylon, the slings are about 8 ” wide and have dense 1 ” thick soft cushiony foam padding to eliminate the risk of pain or discomfort during workout. It has a locking mechanism (hooks made of forged steel) that can be clasped to a chin-up bar or any other strong rod and can withstand a load of 350 lbs.

The sling provides the necessary comfort and support during the abdominal workouts and takes the strain off the lower back. It aids in toning the abdominal muscles as well as the muscles of the back, which are sufficiently stretched during the workout. They also aid in strengthening a wide variety of muscles such as the abdominal muscles, lats and triceps. Performing abdominal workouts using abdominal slings is also very good for the spine and cures all kinds of postural anomalies. When compared to other abdominal exercises, which usually trigger a lower back pain, performing abdominal exercises using slings is much more effective and also does not even exert unnecessary pressure on the back or on the elbows. They can be used while performing exercises such as leg raises (keeping the knees straight), abdominal twists, incline crunches and a variety of other exercises which work the abdominal muscles.

Traveling for Business in Comfort: the Right Wardrobe is Essential

Filed under: Travel Info — admin @ 1:42 pm

When you’re traveling on business, whether by plane or automobile, you need to be able to dress for comfort while maintaining a professional appearance; additionally, since you have to transport everything with you for the duration of the trip, your wardrobe choices can mean the difference between being able to relax while traveling and feeling overburdened and ill at ease.

Make sure you pack as little clothing as you can get away with, but as much as you need. This requires some thought beforehand. If you’re going to be participating in multiple business meetings with the same group of people, you need enough changes of clothing that you’re not obviously showing up wearing the same outfit, day after day. If, on the other hand, your business trip consists of a series of meetings, each with a different client, you can probably get away with one or two easy-care business suits. Make sure that you have enough pairs of comfortable dress shoes to coordinate with the suits that you carry; or make sure that all of your suits match one or two pairs of shoes.

Your professional responsibilities may be largely the maintenance or repair of heavy machinery or equipment, rather than business meetings. If your work requires you to have a specific set of work clothes, make sure they allow you to function optimally - and safely - while doing your job. However, ask yourself this: Can you perform the work you need to perform in a business suit? If so, consider adopting that as your wardrobe. Just think of the Xerox repair person; he or she shows up in business attire, complete with white shirt and tie or scarf, peels off the suit coat and drapes it over the back of an office chair, secures the necktie / scarf, and repairs the photocopier in shirtsleeves. The result? Workers at the client company see the Xerox service representative as a professional rather than as a blue collar repairperson.

While wool and cotton are superb materials for a business suit, modern blends, many of which combine manmade wrinkle-resistant fibers with natural fibers, make more sense during a business trip; you can pack several business suits into a suitcase, then remove them when you reach your destination, give them a good shake, and hang them up, fresh, crisp, and ready to wear. Many of these fabrics are also easy care; in a pinch you can wash them in a hotel sink and hang them up; they’ll dry, good as new, in hours.

You may also want to pack some casual clothing for off-hours; if you have layovers while traveling or some free time once you reach your destination, you may want to take the opportunity to explore the community you’re visiting.

Jesus in Wales

Filed under: Religion Stuff — admin @ 10:53 am

The next few days were as hectic and exciting as any days Jesus could remember. The never-ending stream of people who wanted to meet him actually increased each day. Taliesin (Perhaps the author of the Hanes Taliesin which tells the story of the Merovingians back to Melchizedek.) and others spread word of the most interesting young man who already knew so much, but was there to learn from their own great teachers and adepts. People felt a presence when they were in his company. Sometimes he would say little and listen but ask the most insightful questions and occasionally they would hear a sentence or two when he was challenged by someone else’s questions that shone an entirely different light. His passion was immediately felt when his eyes lit up and few who spent much time around him as he traveled with Mary and her father were ever left with any feeling that the legends growing around him were anything less than true. But he hungered to spend serious time in the schooling of Ogham and the healing arts of the Beth-Luis-Nion from Diancecht.

“I just wanted you to get a feel for the enormity of my enterprises and the trade that supports it from mining and other assets we have throughout the whole wide world. I suppose you have picked up a few clues when you see non-indigenous precious stones like jade and the plethora of furs unlike any others you have known.” Joseph remarked as they traveled in a carriage towards a town called Penwith where they were to talk to the miners of the Ding Dong Mine.

“But there is no great motivation for me in money, Joseph. I seek for knowledge and the Isle of Avalon has the people like Diancecht and Taliesin that will serve Mary and me some truly delectable delights. I look forward to contributing to and reading the Coelbren (Kolbrin).”

“It is important to know the forces you are up against is it not?” Joseph smiled.

“Yes, you are right about that.” Jesus replied. “And I will address this to the miners as I did long ago at the Temple with the ‘money-changers’.”

“Is that OK with you Father?” Mary worriedly asked.

“I will never stand in the way of our young lord.”

Like most mines it was a veritable hell-hole and dangerous place even though the living quarters were better than most and there were no slaves. It was one of those places that many who had been slaves, who were from Africa and all manner of places, were working; and Jesus was appalled after a brief tour. Joseph introduced Jesus to the crowd of mostly miners who stood sullenly in the amphitheatre.

“I join in your pain ‘brothers’. I feel it and I worry about all the ways that people make money on the backs of other life. I know many of you are in a far better place here than you once were forced to experience but it does not change the abject horror I feel and the reason I will now be driven to always fight against the forces of power and greed. You and I may not see the world change in our lifetime but I will give my life in the cause of Brotherhood and egalitarian or free-thinking opportunities for all life on earth. Verily I say unto thee - he that suffers the least little hurt in this world is diminished but I and all others are just as diminished. In fact those who diminish others are even more to suffer the karmic outcome of the acts done in their name.”

“Sure you say this, but we see who you sleep with.” Shouted a burly misanthrope near the front of the crowd.

“Mary is my touchstone and she is the daughter of your master. He is a fine man but he cannot change the world by himself. I see you are brave and I will be assured by Joseph that you will not only not be punished but you should be rewarded. Thank you.” Jesus walked off the raised platform and went to get the man. He brought him to Joseph and he asked Joseph.

“Do you have a place for this man that he deserves due to his long and hard life that you and others have brought upon him?”

“He will be made a forest warden and live in a cottage not far from here. I know that all of you deserve more but I am beholden to forces beyond my control. I did not have to bring our young Lord here to speak with you and I do not have to do all the things I do which make your lives far better than other miners. I do these things as best I can and I hope that during my long absences that any transgressions that have occurred outside the way I have instructed things be handled, will be brought to my attention.”

It was along night that saw most of the managers sent packing or offered a job as a deep miner. Many of the miners were asked who they thought would be the best replacements for the managers. The atmosphere of hope that prevailed was most satisfying to Jesus, Mary and Joseph. They spent the night around a bonfire and entertained their ‘brothers’ who became more open and willing to entertain them as the night wore on. As they left the next day to head back to the Isle of Avalon near Glastonbury they were met by the non-working shifts who had gathered along the roadside to pay their respects. The man who was to become warden stepped into the path of the horses and would not move. He waited for Jesus or Joseph to come out of the carriage and walk up to him. Jesus and Joseph both came towards him and Jesus opened his arms. The man came crying into his arms and he said.

“I have a son who works in another mine which is run by someone from another Phoenician enterprise. I want him to have this warden’s job.”

“It will be done.” Joseph spoke and the crowd began to cheer. Again Jesus was touched by or shook hands with many of the miners before he returned to the carriage.

How to Become a Web Marketing Specialist!

By Steve McClain

Learn by doing, active involvement. That’s the uniqueness of
Black Belt Web Marketing. After completing the exercises in each
lesson, you will have a thorough understand of how to
dramatically increase web traffic and a comprehensive, well
organized Web Marketing Plan for doing so.

I first started learning Internet Marketing back in 1994 as a
young Chief Operating Officer in the Documentary/Educational
Film Industry. My Corporate Web page was basically an online
catalog with 88 full length videos and books. Buyers were given
our toll free number and our snail-mail address to order because
there was no such thing as secure servers back then.

To promote the site I registered with the few existing search
engines and started pointing all of our offline advertising to
the web site and e-mail addresses. As the traffic started to
dribble in I registered more keywords with the search engines
and offered free give away contests, encouraged links with other
related sites, and started posting on newsgroups to
significantly increase traffic. I still have scars from a ton of
“flames” received from thousands who didn’t appreciate my
commercial interests on their bulletin boards. In the end my
site not only paid for itself but it began to make good money as
the traffic and popularity increased. Now in 1994 that was a
significant achievement considering 95% on the web sites weren’t
making money.

Since then more millionaires have been made through the Internet
than any other vehicle to date. Bill Gates recently referred to
the Internet as the “Gold Rush of the 21st. century”. There is a
huge monster mountain of cash being transacted online every day
but would you believe, still only about 5% of all web sites are
making money? It’s interesting that that statistic hasn’t
changed even though the Internet opportunity has skyrocketed and
spread world wide so dramatically.

Some self-proclaimed Internet marketing wizards are very adept
at convincingly you that they have the secret to overnight
millions. With very little or no seed money and with an minimum
of time and effort on your part required. But it will cost you
something like $99.95 for a ticket to see the show. Perhaps it
did happen that way once for someone but seriously let’s wake up
and smell the coffee. The chances of that happening for you are
slim to none and you know it especially if you’ve invested in
some of these programs.

Don’t get me wrong you can make a living online and a pretty
good one too. Even become filthy rich if your committed, patient
and willing to spend the time to learn how to develop a good
rock solid plan and then to work your plan. In other words
Internet Marketing in that sense is no different than marketing
an offline business. Requiring specialized knowledge, skill,
capitol investment and a rock solid plan with the determination
to spend the time, resources and effort required work the plan.

On the other hand there are techniques and business concepts
that are ideally suited for the strengths of the Internet. To
ignore them means: cash and burn, for sure! See the article
“Your Internet Fortune is Just a Click Away” at:
http://www.ezstepbystep.net/articles.

Do you already own a business of your own?

If not you should drop what you are doing and start one right
away it is that important. Never before in history has there
been more money making opportunities, all because of advent of
the World Wide Web. No need to pay for office space, no
employees needed unless you want them, no expensive equipment to
buy. Instantly reach a global market from your own home. Why not
take that computer you use for e-mail and put it to work. You
don’t even need to quit your day job - just yet.

Need a proven high profit business idea or product to get
started. Or need another up-sell addition to your existing
products? See Instant Internet Empires for five turnkey money
making businesses you can have online in about 20 minutes. Plus

Webmaster and more at: http://www.ezstepbystep.net

If your already established with your own online business then
you need traffic. TRAFFIC! Yes you could have the most desirable
in demand product and the latest greatest web site with all the
bells and whistles but if no one ever visits your not going to
make any sales. Which is totally unnecessary. If you know how,
traffic will never be a problem again.

You can master the techniques to drastically increase traffic to
your web site (or any other web site) in about a week or two.
With my course “Black Belt Web Marketing” at:
http://www.ezstepbystep.net you learn by doing it. It’s an
interactive tool. Step by step you build your own comprehensive,
well organized ongoing Web Marketing Machine in 11 easy to
complete lessons and exercises. The exercises help you master
the techniques.

By the time you have fully employed your Black Belt Marketing
Plan your site will be receiving visitors from dozens of
sources, soon to become hundreds of sources. It’s a systematic
approach that’s followed over and over again of overlapping
separate plans implemented in series to develop large target
audiences. You implement your Marketing Plan as you complete the
exercises.

With Black Belt Web Marketing you will become a Web Marketing
Specialist with the skills and ability to turn any
seldom-noticed site into a popular hub of sales activity. In two
short years (2004) the experts say there will be a quarter of a
billion web sites. If the trend stays true 95% of them will be
floundering in obscurity with out enough traffic and sales to
their sites to pay for site maintenance. Information Super
Highway “RoadKill” for sure.

By learning these skills now you’ll not only profit immediately
with a nice injection of visitors to your site. But if you’ll
keep working your plan it will generate continuous traffic for a
lifetime. Plus you’ll be in position to provide a much needed
helping hand as all these other business keep coming online and
secure your own future earning capacity. See Black Belt Web

Speaking With Your Mouth Shut

Filed under: House Of Self Improvement — admin @ 1:45 am

“I speak two languages, Body and English.”

Mae West, American Actress (1892-1980)

Whilst driving to a breakfast networking meeting in Inverness, I was listening to the radio. There was someone on who mentioned that he was going on a week-long retreat - a silent retreat. No talking would be allowed. The presenter asked him how he would cope, but his guest replied that you can make a lot of noise without actually opening your mouth. Now he wasn’t talking about banging on the table to get attention, but about body language and facial expressions as a means of communicating.

This got me thinking about how we all communicate so much without speaking. What are you saying about yourself before you even utter a word? How do you dress? How do you walk? What do your facial expressions say about you as a person? Are they conveying enthusiasm and motivation, or are they telling a whole different story?

How can you use the unspoken message to assist you in reaching your goals? Are you looking for promotion? Do you need to have a good look at your appearance and how you present yourself to the world? Someone who is well-groomed and takes care of their appearance (I am not talking super vanity here, but of taking pride in how you present yourself.) conveys professionalism and attention to detail, someone who is on the ball. Who would you choose if you wanted someone to get the job done? Someone well turned out or Sloppy Joe? Just a thought.

To make changes to your outward appearance, whether it is what you are wearing or the way your walk or even how you form an expression is something that starts within. You need to feel that this is what you want to do. You have to understand what makes this important to you and what benefits you’ll gain from doing it. It shouldn’t be because I’ve said this is how you should be, but because you’ve actually taken notice and thought “Yes, I need to work on this. I’m not really giving out the messages I want to.”

It is easy to overlook these silent messages. Not any more! Watch the people around you. What are they telling you without words? How can use what you see to help you in your own unspoken communications? The hows and the how-not-tos!

Motivated, enthusiastic people move with energy. It shows in the way they walk, striding forward with head held high, ready to meet anything that comes their way. Sometimes it takes a little effort and practice to do this, especially for people who have got into the habit of moving as though they are afraid someone may notice them! Actively seek attention, but in a positive way. You don’t have to become a great show-off, but start by putting your shoulders back, hold that head up high and show that you mean business!

Of course you don’t have to do this, but you wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t want to get the most out of your life.

What new thing could you do each day to wordlessly convey what a positive, energetic, enthusiastic person you are?
How creative can you be in your wordless communications? This could be fun! You could even enlist the cooperation of your colleagues, friends and family to see how long it takes them to read the message you are giving them with speaking. Remember the game ‘Charades’? You could play your own version on any topic you like, not just a book, film or television programme title.

How much does it cost to present an enthusiastic, positive impression? Nothing but effort and practice. Are you used to frowning as you walk into the office? (Maybe you haven’t actually been aware of your expression.) Try a smile for a change and see what results you get. If a smile is beyond you for the moment, how about just a neutral expression. The Power in Praising People

Filed under: Web Management — admin @ 10:52 pm

One of the keys to success is to have successful relationships. We are not islands and we don’t get to the top by ourselves. And one of the key ways to grow successful in our relationships is to be “life-giving” people to others. Every person we meet, we either give life to or take life from. You know what I mean. There are people who encourage you and when you are done being with them you feel built up. Then there are others who you feel torn down by. Successful people are people who have mastered the art of building others up.

One of the ways we build people up is to praise them. There is power in praising people! Something begins to happen in them, in you, and in your relationship when you praise someone. Remember a time when someone told you something about yourself in a praising manner? It was great, wasn’t it? You probably liked that person more after they praised you, didn’t you?

Now I am not talking about praising people for the sake of praising people. I am talking about honestly looking for and praising positive character traits and action of others around you. Don’t lie to people. If they have done something wrong, correct it, but when they do something right, Praise it!

With that said, here are benefits of and ways to start praising people.

Benefits

Your relationship grows. Life is about relationships. Family relationships, friends, and co-workers. When we begin to praise people for their positive aspects, our relationships grow. It puts them, and us, on the fast track.
Your leadership and influence grows. Who is going to have greater leadership and influence capacity in the lives of their followers, the one who tears down or the one who builds up?

Stronger relationships and loyalty. When the person is appreciated and praised, they become fiercely loyal, because they know that you care for them, love them, and appreciate them. This will take you to success.

Happier, more fulfilled people. I truly believe it is our job to build others up and that they need it. It is a good thing, in and of itself to invest in the lives of others by praising and encouraging them. Even if we never get anything in return, it is the right thing to do to build up other people. Someone else will always come along to tear them down; the successful person will instill in them the power of praise!

Some ways to praise

Character traits. Is there someone you know who is joyful? Hard-working? Honest? Then let them know how much you appreciate that in them. You can do it with a word or a card, or a phone call. Say something like this, “You know Tom, I think it is great that you are such a hard-worker. It seems like you are always the first one here and the last one to leave. You really set a good example and I want you to know how much I appreciate that.” Simple!

Action.

Same idea as above. “Sue, I don’t know if anybody else has told you this, but your work on the Johnson account was excellent. You have a wonderful ability to communicate the vision of the project and that helps all of the rest of us out in our roles and tasks. Thanks for that. It is greatly appreciated.”

Other ways you can show praise and appreciation is with a card, a gift, or time off from work.

Make it your goal to praise at least five people a day. If you can, praise ten people a day. Or perhaps you can try to praise everyone you come in contact with. It will take work but it is possible. It just takes discipline and a little work.

Any way you cut it though, there is power in praising people. First for them, then for you!
