Celebrate Father's Day with the Children

Filed under: Funy Center, Lifestyle Hall, Miscellaneous — admin @ 1:27 am

June is a Special time for Dad. Father’s Day falls mid-month and is a celebration of all he does for the family. Typically, it is a day to let him have some time on his own to sit in a hammock while sipping a cold beverage with nothing to do. That’s a fantastic way to celebrate, but your children might want to do something more involved to show their appreciation. Using the following Fathers Day Ideas will ensure you have a Father’s Day that is completely memorable.

Father’s Day Ideas

Serve your father lunch in bed. Ordinarily Mom gets this royal treatment, but turn the tables and make him all his favorite breakfast foods. Don’t forget the Sunday newspaper and funnies youngsters can read these with him. Instead of buying cards, have your kids make their own using construction paper and craft items, like sequins, glitter glue, and yarn.

Neckties are, without a doubt, everyone’s preferred gift to give Dad on Father’s Day. While the concept can get old, ties are still a popular and practical gift. This year, why not try giving Dad a tie that’s more fashionable than the conforming silk with stripes option? This present guide features the most popular ten grooviest and craziest ties running from neckties with a built-in fan to those that pop-up. So, this year, surprise Dad with a necktie he’ll never forget.

Too Much Protection

Filed under: Funy Center, Gambling Wheel, Life Of Games — admin @ 9:05 am

Poker players protect their hands by raising and forcing others to fold. It’s a simple concept to understand but underneath the strategy are some subtle nuances that make hand protection more complicated than it seems at first glance.

No limit poker enables a wide range of betting to protect one’s hand. Sometimes players protect to the extreme and wind up costing themselves potential chips because they have driven off all contenders too early.

For instance, you’ve got pocket Queens - a strong starting hand that can win lots of pots. It is however vulnerable to anyone holding a King or an Ace if the flop brings those cards. How much should you bet pre-flop with no raises ahead of you?

An extreme bet - more than 3x the blinds - will probably force most players to fold. The downside is that you pick up very few chips with this play. Betting 5x the pot to win the two bets that are in the pot is way out of proportion and has minimized your profit. Plus anyone with a strong Ace or pocket Kings is probably going to stick around anyway. Over-protecting your hand with outsized bets is only going to force all the weak online poker hands - the ones you want to keep playing - to fold.

When you have a good hand, don’t automatically think about how to protect it from being outdrawn. Instead focus on how you can maximize your winnings if your hand does win. A bet that is only 2.5-3x the blind will probably keep a few speculative hands in the fray. If the flop brings cards that jeopardize your hand, then you have not invested so much in the hand with the smaller bet.

Green Gowns

Filed under: Education Resources, Funy Center, Tutors Den — admin @ 12:31 pm

The spate of purchasing new graduation cap and gowns for graduation ceremonies and dumping them in closets after the day’s ceremony is alarming. Almost every year, graduates from various high schools and universities purchase brand new gowns. After the ceremony, they often are at a loss of what to use the gowns for.
Apart from selling them to rental shops and other agencies that deal in second handed gowns, there is a newer environment friendly option for those graduation robes. You can now purchase new graduation gowns made of biodegradable materials. These new gowns are made of recycled plastic bottles, which can be reused again or recycled after use. As an alternative to the more common polyester based gowns, which cannot be recycled, these gowns can now be used for other things and need to no longer stay in the closets after graduation. The new recyclable gowns usually look thinner and softer than the traditional gowns and therefore, will be perfect in hot weather. For the time being, these gowns are produced only in black color, but hopefully other colors will emerge soon.
About twenty three (23) plastic bottles can produce enough fabric to make a gown, and these gowns can be reused more that once and would still look good. Many schools such as the University of Vermont and the University of New Hampshire have resorted to using these biodegradable gowns, although they are a few dollars higher that the traditional polyester gowns. Most of these schools want to support the green gown movement as well as purchase gowns, which will be of use even after graduating their students. Many of these schools usually pay the extra $5 or so which the green gowns cost.
The introduction of the green gown initiative does not only help students dress in more comfortable and light gowns for their graduation ceremony, but it also eliminates the waste of buying gowns that you would wear for just once and then putting them away. Also using green gowns helps the government deal with the bulk of gowns, which could otherwise have been littering the environment.
Students graduating in 2010 can have their caps and gowns made from these biodegradable materials. All they need to do is find out if their school is one of those schools that support this initiative and ask the school store for the green gowns. If their school is not yet involved, they can go online to find sites where they can order for their biodegradable 2010 graduation gowns and other accessories. You could be saving some money and helping the environment by purchasing one. All you should remember is that you are expected to give them back for recycling after your graduation.

Looking Ahead at College

Filed under: Education Resources, Funy Center, Tutors Den — admin @ 5:16 pm

It is perfectly understandable if you are smitten with sadness around this time. After all, it is the graduation season and if you are going to be a high school graduate soon, life is going to be taking a rollercoaster turn for you. What had so far been a ride that went more or less in a straight manner, is soon going to take a 360 degree turn and then change tracks mid-way. You have been handed your graduation gowns and caps already, I suppose. If not, the time is just around the corner. You will see and use your academic gowns for graduation day convocation whether you want to or not. Did that sound a little heartless? I am sorry. No, I really am, I did not mean it in that way. What I was trying to get through to you is that this day was bound to come sooner or later, and instead of drowning the soul in sadness over an inevitability, why not look at the bright side and see what lies ahead of you. College life has its own charms, very different from school life, but charming nonetheless.
When you get your caps and gowns for high school graduation you are told that life will take you many places and that you will always remember your school life and so on. And that is true. I still remember the secret combination for my locker, and I still remember where they keep the footballs hidden. However, that does not mean that I did not enjoy my college life. College life brings with it an independence that you hadn’t known before. Even though I suffered my first big heart break in college, what I took away from that relationship has shaped my life in ways unimaginable. And of course, how can one forget all the fun and frolic attached with college life? You will encounter the term “freshman 15″ when you get to college and let me tell you beforehand that it is no myth. The sudden surge of good food and even better drink can really add up to your pounds in weight. You will gain anywhere around 12 to 25 pounds in your first year at college. But, you know what? That’s part of the fun! Go and enjoy yourself while you can. Just like you will never have school life back, you will never get to live your college years again. Of course, I am not telling you to go get yourself drunk and hog on all the hotdogs you can, but a reasonable amount of fun is no big issue. Just watch that you don’t go too far. The graduation gowns and caps that we are all given are not just a formality. They are conferred on us because we are expected to be responsible citizens and good human beings.
While it may be hard to part ways with school, know that college also has some great things in store for you. Enjoy life as it comes!

EPT an Exciting Finish

Filed under: Funy Center, Gambling Wheel, Life Of Games — admin @ 3:42 pm

One of the most exciting and generally well-played poker events, the European Poker Tour, is gearing up for an exciting finish. The EPT Player of the Year is currently a three-way tie with Maxim Lykov, Martin Kabrhel and Kevin MacPhee all currently sitting on 160 points after sensational performances during Season 6. Kevin MacPhee is up there after beating 944 other players at EPT Berlin earlier this month as well as finishing second in a side event and cashing in three Main Events while Lykov’s points come mainly thanks to his winning the first online poker event of the season in Kyiv as well as a $1,000 PCA side event. Czech star Martin Kabrhel has earned most of his points in side events - winning three so far including the EPT Deauville High Roller. The trio can’t rest on their laurels however. Any player currently in the top 21, which includes Poker Pros Peter Eastgate, William Thorson and Luca Pagano, could scoop the Player of the Year title if they win one of the last remaining Main Events. One only Award winner is home and dry - and that’s Poker Pro William Thorson who is Best Omaha Player. Thorson dominated Omaha in Season 6 and won two out of the 11 events. There are no Omaha events now left on the schedule which means the talented Swede can start his celebrations right now. The EPT Mixed Games Player award is the closest-run award at present, with seven online poker players all tied on 50 points. The contenders include Team PokerStars Pros Benjamin Kang , Joe Hachem and Katja Thater and the winner will be decided next month at the final Mixed Games side event during EPT Sanremo.

Big Stack Aggression

Filed under: Funy Center, Gambling Wheel, Life Of Games — admin @ 10:45 am

When you’re playing poker online , having the big poker online stack is a great feeling. You’ve got all kinds of power-you can raise the poker blinds whenever you feel like it, you can play aggressively and bully your way around the table, or you can sit back and wait for your opponents to make mistakes or to knock each other out. Here are a few ways that you can change up your game and throw your weight around at the table. Don’t limp into the pot-when you’re the big stack, you can afford to come to the table with a raise every time. Use your stack to set your own blinds. If the blinds are tight players when you’re in the late position, play every hand. Tight players are generally susceptible to blind steals, so steal their blinds whenever you get the chance. If anyone limps into the hand, raise them before the flop. If any of your opponents show weakness, punish them with a raise. It’ll frustrate them and it’ll end up pushing more chips into your stack when they fold.See more flops, but fold if the flop hits. You can afford to see more flops, but it’s easy to lose your stack if you end up chasing hands. If the flop doesn’t hit you, get out of the hand.

Aspiring Bowling Trusted Resource, Your Neighborhood Bowling League

Filed under: Funy Center, Life Of Games, Recreation Tips — admin @ 11:15 pm

Ever met an occasional bowler ready to approach real bowling with new respect. When bowling is your situation, you’re in the midsts of a crucial rebirth in growing as a real student of the game. My introduction to A Bowler’s Development is for you. The guys in a local bowling pro shop can help bowlers reach their bowling potential. It’s no surprise, the bowling balls do all the work (after you roll them). That’s a joke. I admit, if only it were that simple. No worry, with a little guidance we’ll make sure you’re throwing the best way we know how.

It’s not a big purchase, buy your own custom fit necessities, especially good bowling shoes. Rentals and house balls suck. I promise, have your personal ball drilled for custom finger holes, and you can make more of your practice time. A precision drilled bowling ball can make a substantial improvement in your game. It’s also important you’re having quality bowling shoes that don’t stink like desanitizer

If you went ahead and found your supplies, now it’s time for the number two piece of bowling advice: aiming the ball. As you wait to roll, don’t shoot for your actual target, the pins. Line up using the notches on the lane like a gunsight. What’s the point? It’s less difficult to aim for a point which sits nearer. To get the most out of your aim, double check to see aim from the same position on the wood on every attempt. Roll from the same place, in the same way and you can adjust your marksmanship.

What do you make of curves, for their desired pin action? Indeed, this is another “Next Steps” bowling hint. They get traction with the ball type. Actually, serious bowlers pack several types of bowling balls to pull off aggressive hooks, according to the type of game and lane. But intermediates should not try to be fancy, and avoid a ball that weighs a ton. A lot of avid bowlers opt for bowling balls featuring special resin expert grip. Avoid the temptation, because these balls might make even moderately good players look silly. That about raps it up. A pro from our bowling shop will return shortly.

Thanks, Michael Rogers

We manage Team “Pindemonium” for the operation at Bowling Pro Shop just outside Las Vegas. I offer tips to novice bowlers online and in my local newsletter. Lastly, I want to say hi to all my heavy rollers in the shop. Cheers!

Head Game

Filed under: Funy Center, Gambling Wheel, Life Of Games — admin @ 1:56 pm

When a online poker tournament gets down to two casino players, it becomes a “Heads Up” contestant. This is when poker becomes a game of real psychological warfare between the two contestants. It is truly a scenario where any two cards can win, and where a player is most likely to win with nothing.

Heads-up poker online boils down to the most basic “play the player” strategy. Raising frequently on the button before the flop in heads-up will definitely confound your opponent since it makes it impossible to get a read on what your are playing, especially when you follow up with continuation betting after the flop.

Don’t make it easy for your opponent, make it hard. Putting pressure on your heads-up opponent is more important than your actual cards. Always raise with an Ace or a face. It is actually difficult for anyone to hit a pair in heads-up play, and high card often wins if it comes to a showdown.

Though you’ll do so much less often than in a full game, sometimes it’s best to fold in heads-up too. When you are small blind, and are dealt total rags like 2-3 off suit, then just fold your hand rather than call the big blind. You’re better off making that small concession and moving onto the next hand. When your bet is called or raised, and you are not holding strong cards or a made pair, then fold. Don’t get lured into putting lots of chips into the pot with a speculative hand.
